Iran has threatened to target banks and economic centres linked to the United States and Israel in the region, following what it described as an attack on an Iranian financial institution.
According to remarks reported by Al Jazeera Media Network, a spokesperson for Khatam al‑Anbiya Headquarters said Iran now considers itself free to strike economic interests associated with the United States and Israel across the region.
“The enemy left our hands open to targeting economic centres and banks belonging to the United States and the Zionist regime in the region,” the spokesperson said.
The official also issued a warning to civilians, advising that people in the region should avoid staying within a one-kilometre radius of banks, suggesting such facilities could become potential targets in any retaliatory action.
Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has previously been described by the United Nations as an entity linked to the powerful military organization.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, following a series of attacks and counter-threats in the region.
Regional observers say the warning could raise concerns for financial institutions and commercial hubs across the Middle East if the confrontation escalates further.
