New Delhi: India and Brazil on Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening cooperation in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector and advancing sustainable economic growth.
The agreement was signed during the ongoing visit of a delegation led by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva to India. The MoU was formalised between the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Brazil’s Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Micro and Small Enterprises.
According to an official statement, the MoU provides a platform for both sides to discuss issues concerning MSMEs and explore potential areas of cooperation for mutual benefit. It aims to create a framework that enables enterprises in both countries to better understand each other’s markets, technologies, strengths and policy environments.
A key focus of the agreement is to facilitate the green transition within the MSME sector. The MoU seeks to create enabling conditions for improving access to green finance, helping MSMEs integrate into global markets and value chains while enhancing productivity and competitiveness.
Officials said the partnership is expected to strengthen the capacity of MSMEs in both countries to pursue sustainable development pathways, reinforcing broader economic ties between India and Brazil.
