Srinagar: The Travel Agents Association of Kashmir (TAAK) on Wednesday held its General Members’ Interactive Meet, bringing together key stakeholders from the travel and tourism industry to discuss strategies for strengthening unity within the association and revitalizing Kashmir’s tourism sector.
The meeting, which saw enthusiastic participation from members across the travel trade fraternity, focused on promoting tourist-friendly services, enhancing marketing outreach, and leveraging social media platforms to showcase Kashmir as a premier travel destination. Members also discussed the importance of attending national and international travel fairs under the association’s banner to enhance visibility and networking opportunities.
In his keynote address, TAAK President Farooq Kuthoo stressed the need for professionalism, innovation, and eco-friendly practices in sustaining Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism ecosystem. “Collaboration and responsible tourism are key to ensuring long-term growth for our industry,” he said.
The session provided a platform for members to share their views on current tourism trends, challenges faced by travel operators, and suggestions for improving trade operations and visitor experiences. Participants expressed satisfaction with the open and interactive format, describing it as a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and build consensus on industry goals.
Secretary General Sajad Ahmad Kralyari, who moderated the session, announced that TAAK plans to organize a series of familiarization (FAM) trips and strengthen collaborations with various service providers to enhance destination promotion and coordination among stakeholders.
Several past presidents of TAAK also attended the meeting, offering their insights and recommendations based on decades of experience in the sector.
In his vote of thanks, Past President Ashfaq Siddiq Dug appreciated the members for their active participation and reaffirmed TAAK’s commitment to serve as a united and proactive platform for the promotion of tourism in Kashmir.
