Jammu: The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Jammu & Kashmir has welcomed the revival of the historic Darbar Move tradition, calling it a visionary decision that will strengthen regional unity and boost economic activity across Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement issued to Ziraat Times on Tuesday, Rahul Sahai, Chairman ICC J&K, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for announcing the revival and expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for granting approval to the move.

Sahai said the decision will have a positive impact on both regions’ economies, ensuring balanced administrative presence and sustained business engagement throughout the year. “The revival of the Darbar Move will bring renewed vibrancy to Jammu’s trade and business sector as the city’s markets will once again see a surge of visitors from the Kashmir region during the winter months,” he noted.

Terming the move a symbol of harmony and inclusiveness, Sahai added that it would strengthen the bond between the two regions and communities, while promoting mutual understanding and cooperation.

He further stated that the ICC Jammu fully supports all government initiatives aimed at promoting economic revival, inter-regional cooperation, and social harmony across the Union Territory.
