Ziraat Times News Desk

Srinagar – In a significant move set to benefit thousands of pilgrims and tourists, the Srinagar–Katra Vande Bharat Express will officially begin making a scheduled stop at Reasi Railway Station starting Tuesday, October 29, 2025.

The decision follows repeated requests from local residents and aims to substantially improve accessibility for devotees travelling to the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and tourists visiting the architectural marvel, the Chenab Bridge.

According to railway officials, the semi-high-speed train will observe a two-minute halt at the Reasi station while travelling in both directions.

The new stop is expected to provide a crucial connectivity boost to the Reasi district, a region central to both religious tourism and infrastructure development in the Union Territory.

The Srinagar–Katra Vande Bharat Express was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2025, and holds the distinction of being the first direct rail link established between the Jammu region and the Kashmir Valley. Its new halt at Reasi underscores the Railways’ commitment to enhancing convenience and promoting tourism across key destinations in Jammu and Kashmir.
