Des Moines, Iowa (USA) – Dr. Manzoor Hussain Dar, a prominent agricultural scientist from J&K, has been named one of the 2025 Top Agri-Food Pioneers by the World Food Prize Foundation. The prestigious award was presented on October 23, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa, recognizing his transformative leadership and impactful contributions to global food security.
Dr. Dar is part of an elite international cohort, standing among only 39 global recipients of the accolade this year. He is also one of just five scientists from CGIAR—a global agricultural research partnership—to receive this recognition, underscoring the significance of his work on the world stage.
The award celebrates Dr. Dar’s substantial efforts in developing and strengthening seed systems. His initiatives have been crucial in providing millions of smallholder farmers with access to high-quality, climate-resilient seeds.
