Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday announced that its senior leader Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi will file his nomination papers for the Budgam Assembly by-election on Sunday at 12 PM.
In a brief statement, the party said the decision underscores the PDP’s commitment to offering a strong and people-centric alternative in Budgam.
Party leaders and supporters are expected to accompany Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi during the nomination filing, which marks a key step in the PDP’s preparations for the upcoming by-election.
The Budgam seat, considered politically significant in central Kashmir, is expected to witness a keen contest, with major regional parties — including the National Conference (NC) and the PDP — fielding prominent candidates.
