Srinagar traders’ group urges trade associations to support KCCI

Srinagar, March 11: A Srinagar-based traders’ association, Shahre Khas Traders & Chambers, has appealed to the trading and business communities of Kashmir to support Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry in its efforts in resolving the issues of Kashmir’s business community.

The President of the association, Bashir Ahmad Kanu, along with other members of Shahre Khas Traders & Chambers had a meeting where they discussed the current situation of J&K regarding trade, Rakib Altaf Shah, Chief Spokesman, told Ziraat Times.

“If our trade leaders had grasped only one rope, then this day would not have to be seen today”, the President said in the meeting, stating that the Shahre Khass Traders and Chambers gives its full support to Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and requests all trade leaders with folded hands to support them too, because it is the KCCI who will help trade bodies by escalating the issues to the right forums.

“They are the one who is escalating the issues of poor traders and we can proudly say that 70% of the issue have been  resolved so far”, the group said.

The President of SKT&C also said that they were not interested in establishing leadership nor need any appreciation.

“All we want is to work for the betterment of trading communities. We don’t need the crown of leadership”, he added.
