Kulgam traders continue to suffer for shifting old bus stand: KTMF

Kulgam, 9 March: Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation (KTMF) visited District Kulgam on Thursday and interacted with various delegations from trade and transport. KTMF delegation was led by Haji Mohammad Yaseen Khan and included  Qazi Tauseef and Lateef Ahmad Sofi.

The traders of Kulgam district are aghast for shifting the old bus stand to Laroo Ada, Mr Khan said adding, “that the shifting of old bus stand to Laroo Ada by the district administration has resulted in immense hardships to them. The erstwhile place for the Bus Stand was suitable for the people but unfortunately the shifting of old bus stand for unknown reasons have left them in the lurch”.

The business community of Kulgam later asked KTMF to take up the issue with the  Divisional administration and ‘to look into the matter so that they could heave a sigh of relief.’

Later, the KTMF President visited Kulgam town where he addressed traders and office bearers from the Kulgam Traders Association. Traders highlighted various problems being faced by them and sought his intervention for their resolutions. In his address Mr Khan asked the traders to unite and gear up for the elections of district trade body which were due since long. He directed them to constitute an election board which will conduct and oversee the election process of the district. He emphasised “the importance of democratic process to further strengthen Kashmir Traders & Manufacturers Federation at district level in Kashmir.”
