J&K Govt invites applications for SKUAST-Jammu VC post; here is how to apply

Srinagar, Feb 10: Jammu & Kashmir administration has invited applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu. In this regard, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir has constituted a Selection Committee for recommending a panel of suitable aspirants for the position of Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, Jammu (J&K). The position is to be filled up on tenure basis for a period not exceeding three years or attainment of 65 years of age, whichever is earlier. Aspirants for this position should not be more than 62 years of age as on the closing date of application.

According to a notification issued by Atal Dulloo (IAS) Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Agriculture Production Department, J&K UT (Convener, Selection Committee), a copy of which has been made available to Ziraat Times, the committee invites applications from eminent agricultural scientists with outstanding credentials and also solicits appropriate nominations from renowned personalities of eligible candidates fulfilling the following criteria:

I. Essential Qualifications and Experience:

1. A distinguished scientist or academician with Doctor of Philosophy degree in Agriculture/ Veterinary or related fields.
2. More than 10 years experience in the grade of professor or equivalent position in any academic organization of repute.
3. Administrative experience of at least 03 years in handling affairs of any university or a national institution as Dean/ Joint Director/ Director or equivalent.
Or
Five years experience at the level of Head of the Department/Division or equivalent position in any academic organization of repute.

4. Minimum of 20 research publications in peer-reviewed national/ international journals including books.
5. Demonstrated experience in leadership.

II. Desirable Experience:

1. Good understanding of financial management including revenue generation, planning and fiscal control.
2. Demonstrable success in developing and executing National and International collaborative arrangements.
3. Experience of working in Statutory Authorities of a university such as Board of Studies/Academic Council/ Executive Council/Board of Management.
4. Experience of handling accreditation procedures, quality assessment and guiding students for Masters’ and PhD.
5. Experience of international exposure through participation in meetings, workshops, seminars, or conferences held outside the country.

2.
