Sopore: In a major boost to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), influential Sopore Fruit Mandi’s President, Fayaz Malik, alias Kakaji and Javed Bhat, a prominent industrialist from Sopore joined the party on Monday.
At a ceremony at Sopore, PDP President Mehbooba Mufti welcomed the new members formally to the party fold.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Fayaz said that his joining PDP was dictated by the fact that it was the PDP which has done some concrete work for the farmers and especially in the horticulture sector.
“Whether it was the abolition of toll tax or the introduction of the Market Intervention Scheme, these visionary steps were taken by the PDP patron Mufti sahab”, Malik said.
Ms Mufti said that Mr Malik’s joining the party will significantly strengthen PDP in parts of north and Central Kashmir.
