All possible steps taken to minimize post hailstorm damage: Director Agriculture Kashmir

Srinagar: To access the on-ground losses to different agriculture crops caused by the recent hailstorm, the Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited hailstorm affected areas of district Ganderbal including organic village Pati Shallabugh, an official statement said today.

While interacting with the farmers of different affected areas Director Agriculture said since it is a natural phenomenon the Department is committed to take all the necessary steps to minimize the post hailstorm losses to different crops. He asked the concerned officers and field staff of the Department to work in close coordination with the farming community and guide them with respect to different situation warranted interventions.

He asked the technical staff to access the losses caused to different crops within three days time and file a comprehensive report to the Department. Mr. Chowdhary exhorted on the officers of concerned section to issue advisories regarding the post hailstorm management of different crops and ensure its wide publicity through print, electronic and social media.

Later on Director Agriculture visited the Soil Testing Lab and reviewed its functioning.

Director was accompanied by Deputy Director Law Enforcement Mohammad Younis Chowdhary , Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Ganderbal Bashir Ahmad Alamgir and other senior officers of the districts
