Agri Dept holds training program for Enforcement Officers

Srinagar, March 4: Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department today organized a one day capacity building program for Enforcement Officers regarding sampling and prosecutions under Insecticide Act 1968, Seed act 1966 and Fertilizer Control Order. Director Agriculture Kashmir Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal inaugurated the program.

While delivering his address Director said that ‘capacity building is a practice that tends to improve the range of skills and competencies.’

Chowdhary impressed upon the participants to utilize the training contents with interest so as to get updated with latest amendments regarding the laws in vogue for strict compliance of the Insecticides Act 1968, Fertilizer Control Order 1985 and Seed Act 1968.

Director stressed upon the Deputy Director Law Enforcement to gear up his filed functionaries for intensive checking round the clock, and directed him to send samples drawn immediately sent to quality control Laboratory for analysis, so that the quality inputs are distributed among the farming
community. He also directed the officers to strictly follow the recently devised road map issued to control menace of the spurious inputs.

Joint Director Extension M. Muzaffer Hurra and Joint Director Apiculture and Mushroom Farooq Ahmad Shah elaborated different aspects of law enforcement, providing quality inputs to the farmers, analyzing and quality parameters among the participants.

The Capacity Building Program was attended all Joint Directors, Deputy Director Law Enforcement Kashmir, Agriculture Chemist Kashmir, Assistant Director Law Enforcement, District Law Enforcement Officer and all Enforcement Inspectors of Kashmir Division.

Earlier Director along with the team of officers from the department felicitated the progressive Mushroom Grower of Khonchipora, Tangmarg, who has been recently awarded with the IARI innovative farmer National Award 2021 at New Delhi. Congratulating the awardee Director said that his hard work and dedication has paid him by receiving this prestigious award.
