Srinagar, September 28: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is also the Minister in charge of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, on Monday introduced three Bills in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly seeking amendments to laws governing salaries and allowances of ministers and Ministers of State, salaries and allowances of members of the J&K Legislature, and pensions of former members of the J&K Legislature.
The three Bills were introduced during the ongoing Autumn Session of the Assembly and have already been published in extraordinary issues of the Official Gazette.
The Bills are:

J&K Ministers’ and Ministers of State Salaries Act, 1956: The Chief Minister introduced the Jammu and Kashmir Ministers’ and Ministers of State Salaries (Amendment) Bill, 2026, designated as L.A. Bill No. 13 of 2026.

Salaries and Allowances of Members of the J&K State Legislature Act, 1960: The Bill to amend the Salaries and Allowances of Members of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Act, 1960, designated as L.A. Bill No. 14 of 2026, was also introduced. The legislation also provides for matters connected or incidental thereto.

J&K State Legislature Members’ Pension Act, 1984: The Chief Minister introduced the Bill to amend the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Members’ Pension Act, 1984, designated as L.A. Bill No. 15 of 2026, along with matters connected or incidental thereto.
