Srinagar, Jul 12: The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) has invited filmmakers from across the world to submit entries for the inaugural International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK)-2026, scheduled to be held from September 7 to 10 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
According to an official statement, submissions for the festival opened on July 1 and will remain open until July 31. Detailed guidelines for participation are available on the festival’s official website.
The four-day festival is being organised as a major cultural initiative aimed at positioning Jammu & Kashmir as a destination for cinema, film production and international cultural exchange. It will bring together acclaimed filmmakers, emerging talent, industry professionals, media representatives and cinema enthusiasts from across the world.
The festival will feature competitive and curated sections including International Competition, Cinema of the World, J&K Select, Bharat Panorama, Documentary/Hybrid, Horror and Short Films. Filmmakers will have an opportunity to present their work before an international jury and distinguished audiences while participating in artistic collaborations and discussions.
Official screenings and festival events will be held at SKICC Srinagar, INOX Multiplex Srinagar, Jammu and the Gulmarg Convention Centre.
The government said the festival is intended to showcase the unique heritage, traditions, landscapes and cultural ethos of Jammu & Kashmir through cinema while promoting artistic excellence, innovation in filmmaking and recognition of outstanding cinematic achievements from across the globe.
It said the curated programme is also designed to strengthen cultural dialogue, deepen appreciation of cinematic traditions from different countries and foster friendship and people-to-people connections through the universal language of cinema.
Filmmakers, production houses and independent creators from India and abroad have been encouraged to participate in the inaugural edition of the festival.
