National Youth Festival ‘Aarohan 2026’ inaugurated in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 11: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday inaugurated the National Youth Festival Aarohan 2026 in Srinagar, calling upon young people to play a leading role in building a developed India by 2047.

Addressing participants at the festival, the Lieutenant Governor said the event reflected a vision of “Rise, Shine and Conquer” for the country’s youth and symbolised a commitment towards innovation, leadership and nation-building.

He said the National Youth Festival was a declaration that “the time for youth has arrived” and highlighted the importance of the “Young Leaders Dialogue” being organised as part of the festival.

According to the Lieutenant Governor, the dialogue would help lay the foundation for the next chapter of India’s growth and development by ensuring greater youth participation in governance and policymaking.

Manoj Sinha urged participants in the “Viksit J&K Young Leaders Dialogue”, hackathon and cultural events to contribute towards building a strong and developed India. He said governance could not thrive without the active involvement and voice of young people.

He said every young individual possesses talent and potential but requires opportunities and self-belief to succeed. Encouraging innovation and independent thinking, he urged youth to create their own paths instead of following conventional routes.

The Lieutenant Governor also stressed the importance of culture and creativity, saying that music, art, literature, dance, theatre, sports and crafts reflected the soul and identity of India.

He called upon young people to embrace their individuality and work towards overcoming challenges such as inequality, apathy and despair. He said the greatest achievements in human history emerged not from conflict but from classrooms, laboratories and the efforts of determined young innovators.

The event was attended by Satish Sharma, Ashwani Kumar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Akshay Labroo, G V Sundeep Chakravarthy and Anuradha Gupta, along with young leaders from different parts of the country and senior officials.
