Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday presided over the 17th Annual Convention of the Adventure Tour Operators’ Association of India (ATOAI) at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.
Addressing the convention, the Chief Minister underlined Jammu and Kashmir’s vast potential in adventure tourism and stressed the need to prioritise safety, sustainability and capacity-building as the key pillars for the sector’s growth.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating a robust adventure tourism ecosystem through improved infrastructure, development of skilled manpower and sustained policy support. Omar Abdullah said these measures are aimed at positioning Jammu and Kashmir prominently on the global adventure tourism map.
The Chief Minister also emphasised that the growth of adventure tourism would help generate livelihoods for local youth and communities across the region, contributing to inclusive and sustainable economic development.
