Srinagar: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) Kashmir Chapter on Saturday organised a high-level strategic networking session in Srinagar to build momentum and encourage participation in the Renewable Energy & Electric Vehicle Exposition (REV-Expo) 2026, scheduled to be held in Chandigarh from January 9 to 11, 2026.
The preparatory session brought together key stakeholders from Jammu and Kashmir’s renewable energy ecosystem, including leading solar technology providers, officials from the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency (JKEDA), as well as solar entrepreneurs from across the Union Territory.
The event began with a welcome address by Himayu Wani, Co-Chair, PHDCCI Kashmir. The session was attended by several officials and industry experts, including Shemaila Aslam, Project Head, REC; Raheel from KPDCL; Mayank from Eventage; Haroon Kar, Chief Manager, HPCL; Owais from JKEDA; Mohd Rafiq from SIDBI; Shahid Khan of PHDCCI; Madeena Mir, Director, CNS Infotel; Qaiser Mir, Director, Valley Orion Solar; Bilal Kawoosa, General Convenor, PHDCCI Kashmir; and Ashiq Bhat from the Orion Group. Representatives from technology and skill providers such as Usha and Voltra also participated in the discussions.
A highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the Annual Calendar 2026 by CNS Infotel, which was welcomed by the industry participants.
The networking dialogue focused on accelerating Jammu and Kashmir’s transition towards a sustainable energy future. Participants discussed the need for supportive policy interventions to spur growth in the renewable energy sector and highlighted the economic and environmental benefits of shifting towards electric mobility and solar energy. The discussions underscored the importance of renewable energy in preserving the region’s fragile ecology while ensuring affordable and reliable power.
Addressing the gathering, the Co-Chair of PHDCCI Kashmir said the session was a step towards aligning local entrepreneurship with national sustainability goals. He noted that REV-Expo 2026 would provide a significant opportunity for local solar providers and entrepreneurs to explore new technologies, forge partnerships and learn from global best practices.
Officials from KPDCL and JKEDA shared insights into existing schemes and the regulatory framework, while entrepreneurs highlighted on-ground opportunities and challenges. The deliberations reflected a broad consensus on the need for close collaboration between government agencies, industry and innovators to unlock the region’s renewable energy potential.
The session concluded with participants expressing commitment to actively engage in REV-Expo 2026, viewing it as a key platform to attract investment, promote technological exchange and advance sustainable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
