New Delhi: The Prime Minister on Sunday addressed the third session of the G20 Summit, focusing on the theme “A Fair and a Just Future for All – Critical Minerals; Decent Work; Artificial Intelligence.” In his remarks, he urged member countries to rethink the global approach to critical technologies and ensure that innovation remains human-centric and inclusive.
Highlighting the need for a shift from “finance-centric” to “human-centric” technology, the Prime Minister said that technological development should adopt open-source models and global collaboration rather than exclusive, nationalised systems. He noted that this approach had already shaped India’s own technology ecosystem, leading to advances in digital payments, artificial intelligence, and space-based applications.
On artificial intelligence, he outlined India’s strategy of equitable access, large-scale skilling, and responsible use. He said that the India-AI Mission was focused on expanding high-performance computing capacity to ensure that AI benefits reach all citizens. Stressing the need for international cooperation, he called for a global compact on AI that upholds transparency, human oversight, safety-by-design, and safeguards against misuse.
The Prime Minister reiterated that AI should enhance human capabilities but that final decision-making must remain with humans. He announced that India will host the AI Impact Summit in February 2026 under the theme “Sarvajanam Hitaya, Sarvajanam Sukhaya” (Welfare for all, Happiness for all), inviting all G20 countries to participate.
Addressing the future of work, he said the world must move from a focus on “jobs of today” to building the “capabilities of tomorrow.” Referring to progress made on talent mobility during the New Delhi G20 Summit, he proposed the creation of a Global Framework for Talent Mobility in the coming years.
Concluding his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to global well-being, saying the country stands for sustainable development, trusted trade, fair finance, and inclusive progress.
