Srinagar, Oct 30: Jammu & Kashmir Bank has issued an urgent security alert for its customers, warning about a fraudulent mobile application that falsely claims to represent J&K Bank. This fake app attempts to collect sensitive information such as card details, ATM PINs, CVV codes, and other personal data.
In an official notification, J&K Bank emphasized it has no affiliation with this app and advised customers to exercise caution. To protect their financial security, the bank recommends the following measures:
1. Download Only Official Apps: Customers should only use J&K Bank’s official applications from trusted platforms like Google Play Store or Apple App Store, ensuring they verify the publisher’s authenticity.
2. Beware of Sensitive Data Requests: J&K Bank clarified that it will never ask for details such as ATM PINs, CVV codes, or full card information through any app, call, or email. Any request for such details is a fraudulent attempt.
3. Report Suspicious Activity: Customers who may have downloaded the fraudulent app or shared their personal details are urged to contact J&K Bank’s customer support immediately for assistance in safeguarding their accounts.
J&K Bank’s notice has reminded customers to stay vigilant, as awareness is the best defense against fraud. For any clarifications, customers are advised to reach out through the bank’s official channels, including social media.
