Two-day event to explore AI applications in power generation, grid management, renewable energy and cybersecurity
New Delhi, October 13: The Central Electricity Authority (CEA), under the Union Ministry of Power, will organise a two-day international conference-cum-exhibition in New Delhi on October 14–15 to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies across India’s power sector.
The conclave, titled “Making Indian Power Sector AI Enabled”, will be held at the Manekshaw Centre and bring together government officials, policymakers, industry leaders, technology experts, researchers and other stakeholders.
According to the Ministry of Power, the event aims to identify practical ways to use AI to improve efficiency, reliability, resilience and sustainability across the electricity value chain.
The discussions will cover AI applications in conventional power generation, regulatory processes, renewable energy integration, grid flexibility and the modernisation of electricity transmission and distribution networks.
Other focus areas include grid stability and system restoration, rooftop solar, microgrids and minigrids, AI-enabled green data centres, cybersecurity, protection of critical power infrastructure, demand response and consumer participation.
The conclave will also examine the use of AI in supply chain management, while an exhibition will showcase emerging technologies and innovations for the power sector.
A dedicated session on “AI, Innovation and Opportunities in the Power Sector” will provide a platform for young innovators and professionals to explore emerging technologies and career opportunities.
The CEA said the event was expected to encourage collaboration among government institutions, electricity utilities, industry, academia and technology providers, while promoting investment, technology partnerships and international cooperation.
The initiative is aligned with India’s broader energy transition objectives, including strengthening energy security, promoting sustainability and advancing the goal of Viksit Bharat 2047. It will also examine the role of responsible AI adoption in supporting India’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
Stakeholders interested in participating in the conclave can register through the Central Electricity Authority’s website.
