JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 20: The Jammu Tawi Golf Course (JTGC), Sidhra, has launched the ‘Books & Golf’ initiative to promote reading, knowledge-sharing and meaningful interaction among members of the golfing community.
The initiative seeks to extend the golfing experience beyond the sporting activity by creating a shared repository of books contributed by members, allowing golfers to read, exchange ideas and discover works across different genres.
As part of the initiative, JTGC has invited its members to contribute used books from their personal collections. The books will be made available through a shared repository for members and fellow golfers to access and enjoy during their time at the Golf Course.
The proposed collection will feature books covering a range of genres and areas of interest, providing members with opportunities for quiet reading, learning and intellectual exchange.
The initiative carries the message, “Share a book. Share a thought. Enrich the experience.”
The JTGC management said the initiative is based on the belief that a golf course can serve as more than a sporting venue, offering a space for relaxation, conversation, learning and community building.
Through ‘Books & Golf’, the management hopes to encourage members to share books that have influenced, inspired or entertained them, enabling the books to reach new readers within the golfing community.
The initiative is also aligned with JTGC’s ethos of “Play | Relax | Belong”, with an emphasis on making visits to the Golf Course more enriching and memorable.
The management has appealed to members to participate actively and contribute to the development of the shared book repository.
