Srinagar, August 10: Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) State Women’s Wing President and MLA Habba Kadal, Advocate Shamima Firdous, on Sunday inaugurated a community hall at Bagh-e-Yas, Chattabal, constructed by the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) at a cost of ₹2.37 crore.
This community hall has been a key demand of the people of Chattabal, including Patlipora, Bagyas, Mughal Mohalla, Baghi Sundar, Nalbandpora and other nearby congested areas. The newly constructed facility is aimed at providing residents with a dedicated space for community functions and public activities.
On the occasion, Ms Firdous announced that furniture for the community hall would be provided through her Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Earlier, she also addressed an Awami Darbar at the venue and interacted with local residents, who raised a number of issues and development demands concerning the area.
Among the demands raised by the residents were development of a park, establishment of a fire station, improvement in electricity supply and setting up of a dispensary.
Firdous assured the residents that their genuine demands would be taken up with the concerned authorities and addressed in a phased and timely manner.
She also reiterated that the JKNC remained committed to fulfilling the promises outlined in its party manifesto and assured the public that issues concerning basic amenities and local development would receive due attention.
