JAMMU, AUGUST 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday highlighted the critical role of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in strengthening India’s economic resilience and called for greater focus on affordable credit, technology upgradation, supply-chain integration and ease of doing business.
Addressing the 2nd Edition of the ICC MSME Conclave 2026, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Jammu Chapter, Sinha said MSMEs were among the key pillars of a resilient and competitive economy.
He also underlined the emerging potential of Nano Global Capability Centres (GCCs), artificial intelligence and technology-led growth in creating new opportunities for Jammu & Kashmir’s youth and entrepreneurs.
Welcoming the Lieutenant Governor, ICC Jammu Chairman Rahul Sahai thanked him for his continued support and appreciated his leadership in strengthening peace, infrastructure, industry and religious tourism across Jammu & Kashmir.
Sahai highlighted initiatives including the Tawi Aarti, infrastructure developed for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and the development of pilgrimage destinations across Jammu & Kashmir. He called for the creation of integrated religious-tourism circuits to expand opportunities for local MSMEs and generate employment.
The conclave brought together senior government officials, industry representatives, financial institutions and experts for discussions on MSME growth, religious tourism, Nano GCCs, access to finance, exports, technology and investment opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir.
The ICC Jammu Chapter reiterated its commitment to developing a stronger, technology-driven and globally competitive MSME ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
