SRINAGAR, AUGUST 13: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has approved the Chief Minister’s Digital Internship Programme 2026 (Batch-I), a six-month paid initiative aimed at providing local youth with hands-on experience in emerging technologies and digital governance.
The programme, to be executed by the J&K e-Governance Agency, will provide eligible students pursuing BE/B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA and M.Sc. in Computer Science or Information Technology an opportunity to work on real-world GovTech projects.
The internship will offer practical exposure in areas including GovTech, cybersecurity and digital services, enabling participants to gain an understanding of technology-driven approaches to governance and contribute to solutions for public-service challenges.
Selected interns will also receive structured mentorship from experts to help strengthen their technical skills and gain professional experience.
Under the programme, each intern will receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,000 for the six-month duration.
The Government will also recognise outstanding performance through certificates signed by the Chief Minister. Projects demonstrating exceptional innovation and impact will be considered for the Best Intern Initiative Award.
The initiative is aimed at connecting young technology professionals with real-world governance requirements and creating opportunities for local talent to contribute to Jammu & Kashmir’s digital transformation.
The Government said the programme would help nurture innovation, recognise merit and channel the skills of technology students towards developing practical solutions to contemporary public-service challenges.
