J&K bags ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination’ award at TTF Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD, AUGUST 08: Jammu & Kashmir has been honoured with the ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination’ award at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Ahmedabad, recognising its growing profile as a diverse adventure and experiential tourism destination.

J&K Tourism concluded its three-day participation at the fair, where it showcased the region’s landscapes, adventure activities, cultural heritage and community-based tourism offerings to travel trade representatives, tourism stakeholders and visitors.

The award was presented in recognition of J&K’s expanding adventure tourism potential, with the department highlighting activities including trekking, rafting, skiing, mountaineering and paragliding.

At the fair, J&K Tourism also promoted experiences beyond conventional sightseeing, including homestays, village tourism, heritage experiences and cultural journeys. The delegation invited travellers from Gujarat and other parts of India to experience the region’s culture, traditions, cuisine and local way of life alongside its natural attractions.

The department particularly highlighted the potential of homestays and community-based tourism to provide livelihood opportunities to local communities while offering visitors greater exposure to the region’s culture and hospitality.

“Come to Jammu and Kashmir not only to see its scenic beauty but to experience it, live its culture, connect with its people and discover the adventure that lies in every corner of the Himalayas,” was the message conveyed by the tourism delegation at the fair.

The participation also provided J&K Tourism an opportunity to engage with the Gujarat travel market and explore partnerships with travel agents, tour operators, hospitality businesses and other tourism stakeholders.

TTF Ahmedabad brought together tourism boards, travel companies, hospitality brands and other stakeholders from India and abroad, providing a platform for destination promotion, networking and business engagement.

The recognition comes as J&K Tourism seeks to expand its appeal among younger and new-age travellers looking for adventure-led, experiential and culturally immersive holidays.
