SRINAGAR, Aug 21: The Environmental Policy Group (EPG), an enviro-social think tank, will organise the Syed Nassarullah Shah Conservation Awards–2026 along with a seminar on the “Loss of Green/Open Spaces & its consequences on environment” in Srinagar on Saturday.
The programme will be held at 2:30 pm on August 22 at the Institution of Engineers, Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar.
Former Commissioner/Secretary, General Administration Department, Farooq Ahmad Lone, will be the chief guest at the event.
The seminar is expected to focus on the growing loss of green and open spaces and its implications for the environment, including the broader need for conservation and protection of urban and natural spaces.
The event is being convened by Faiz A Bakshi, Convenor, EPG, along with members of the EPG Governing Council.
The Syed Nassarullah Shah Conservation Awards–2026 will also be presented as part of the programme, recognising contributions to conservation and environmental protection.
