Young Industrialist Passes Away Due to Cardiac Arrest. FCIK Flags Rising Stress in Kashmir Industry

Ziraat Times News Desk

Srinagar, May 11: The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) on Sunday expressed grief over the death of young entrepreneur Riyaz Ahmad Wani, who passed away following a cardiac arrest, and said the incident highlights the growing stress and pressure faced by the business community in Kashmir.

Wani, in his forties, was associated with Habco Industries at the Industrial Estate Rangreth and was described by members of the industrial fraternity as a hardworking and widely respected entrepreneur.

A condolence delegation led by FCIK president Shahid Kamili visited the bereaved family to express solidarity, while a large number of industrialists attended a congregational Fateh to pray for the departed soul.

Several former FCIK presidents, including Meraj Qureshi, Shakeel Qalander, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Ashraf Mir and Mukhtar Yousuf, were among those who paid tributes to Wani.

In its statement, FCIK said the entrepreneur’s death had once again drawn attention to the “silent burden” being carried by industrialists and business owners in Kashmir.

Industry leaders said mounting uncertainties, financial stress, shrinking profit margins and a fragile business environment were taking a heavy toll on entrepreneurs.

“The loss of yet another young entrepreneur is a painful reminder that stress in industry is no longer merely an economic issue — it is taking lives,” the federation said.

Meanwhile, the Association of Industrialists Rangreth also held a condolence meeting under the chairmanship of Dawood Ahmad to pay tributes to the deceased and express solidarity with his family.

Participants at the meeting remembered Riyaz Ahmad Wani as a respected industrialist and compassionate individual whose contributions and personal warmth had earned him admiration across the business community.
