J&K Govt assigns architects to higher posts on in-charge basis in Architects Organisation

Srinagar, May 30: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has ordered the placement of several officers and officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Architects Organisation against higher posts on an in-charge basis to fill available vacancies across the organisation.

According to Government Order No. 110-JK(HUD) of 2026, issued by the Housing & Urban Development Department on May 29, the placements have been made in the officers’ existing pay and grade, with charge allowance admissible under rules.

Under the order, In-charge Divisional Architects Kafeel Ahmed Ferozi, Imtiaz Ahmad Chillo and Bhawna Nanda have been placed as In-charge Senior Architects against available vacancies.

Similarly, Assistant Architects Sundeep Raina, Shaheen Choudhary, Shahid Nabi Dar and Kulbir Kumar Thakur, along with In-charge Assistant Architect Arshad Hussain Wani, have been elevated as In-charge Divisional Architects.

The government has also placed Architects/Technical Assistants Sanjay Gupta, Fayiaz Ahmad, Rubina Rashid and Farhat Manzoor as In-charge Assistant Architects against available vacancies.

As part of the new postings and adjustments, Kafeel Ahmed Ferozi has been posted as In-charge Senior Architect, Central, and will additionally hold charge of Chief Architect, J&K, and Director, Building Centre Srinagar. Imtiaz Ahmad Chillo has been posted as In-charge Senior Architect, Kashmir, while Bhawna Nanda has been assigned as In-charge Senior Architect, Jammu.

Among the newly designated In-charge Divisional Architects, Sundeep Raina has been posted in the Central wing, Shaheen Choudhary in Jammu, Shahid Nabi Dar and Arshad Hussain Wani in Kashmir, and Kulbir Kumar Thakur in the Central wing.

The order also assigns Satish Chander Bhagat, In-charge Divisional Architect, as In-charge Divisional Architect, Jammu, with additional charge of Director, Building Centre Jammu. Consequently, Kafeel Ahmed Ferozi has been relieved of the additional charge of Director, Building Centre Jammu.

The four newly designated In-charge Assistant Architects—Sanjay Gupta, Fayiaz Ahmad, Rubina Rashid and Farhat Manzoor—will continue to serve at their present places of posting until further orders.

The Housing & Urban Development Department clarified that all placements are purely on a stop-gap basis and will not confer any preferential right to regular promotion. The order further states that the arrangements will remain subject to the outcome of any related writ petitions pending before competent courts.
