Strong winds shatter cold store under construction in Pulwama. 1 worker dead, 4 injured

Pulwama, April 16: A worker was killed and four others injured after a truss of an under-construction cold storage facility collapsed in Lassipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday, officials said.

The incident occurred when strong winds brought down the steel truss structure at the construction site, trapping workers underneath. All five injured labourers were immediately evacuated and rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

One of the injured, identified as Sajad Ahmad Mir, a resident of Ruhama in Rafiabad, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

The four others injured in the incident have been identified as Jaspreet Singh of Amritsar, Aijaz Kumar, Hilal Ahmad Rather of Budgam, and Naseer Ahmad Mir of Baramulla. Their condition is stated to be under medical supervision.
