KCCI Pays Tribute to Pahalgam Attack Victims on First Anniversary

Srinagar, April 22: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday paid tribute to the 26 people who lost their lives in last year’s Pahalgam attack, marking the first anniversary of the incident with a message of remembrance and solidarity.

In a statement, the Chamber expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims, stating that the loss continues to be felt across society, with affected families and communities still grappling with the aftermath of the tragedy.

The organisation also paid homage to Syed Adil Shah, a local tourist guide who lost his life while attempting to save visitors during the attack. The Chamber said his actions reflected the spirit of hospitality and courage that Kashmiris have long extended to tourists.

Describing the incident as a painful chapter, KCCI said it remains a moment of collective grief and reflection for the region.

“The loss of innocent lives is deeply felt, and we remember each victim with profound respect,” the statement said, adding that the tragedy continues to resonate across communities.

The Chamber also underscored the need for sustained efforts to promote peace, stability, and a conducive environment for all, particularly in a region heavily dependent on tourism and public confidence.

KCCI reiterated the organisation’s commitment to fostering a safe and welcoming atmosphere, while remembering those who lost their lives in the incident.

The Pahalgam attack, which occurred on April 22, 2025, had triggered widespread condemnation and had a significant emotional impact across Jammu and Kashmir.
