Srinagar: Jammu & Kashmir Bank on Friday accorded a warm farewell to two of its senior management functionaries, Anand Pal Singh and Shabir Ahmad, who superannuated as General Managers after serving the institution for over three-and-a-half decades across various capacities and geographies.
The farewell function was held at the Bank’s Corporate Headquarters and chaired by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Amitava Chatterjee. The event was attended by Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, Chief General Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, along with other senior officers including General Managers and Deputy General Managers.
Addressing the gathering, the MD & CEO thanked the retiring officers for their steadfast commitment and significant contributions to the Bank’s growth and institutional culture. He described their superannuation as a moment of “mixed emotions” for the organisation, noting that while the Bank celebrates their distinguished careers, it also bids farewell to a wealth of experience and institutional memory.
Highlighting the Bank’s forward-looking approach, he said a structured career progression process has already been initiated and succession planning is underway to nurture the next line of leadership. He emphasised the need for middle management to prepare for greater responsibilities in a rapidly evolving banking landscape shaped by technological advancements, regulatory shifts and changing customer expectations.
Calling for agility and innovation, he urged upcoming leaders to strengthen their capabilities in risk awareness and customer commitment to steer the Bank through its next phase of growth.
Executive Director Sudhir Gupta and CGM Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat also conveyed their best wishes to the retiring officers, appreciating their team spirit and long-standing service to the institution.
In their remarks, both Anand Pal Singh and Shabir Ahmad expressed gratitude to the Bank’s leadership and colleagues for their support throughout their careers. They described their journey of over 35 years at the Bank as rewarding and memorable.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of mementos to the retiring officers, amid warm wishes from colleagues for a healthy and fulfilling post-retirement life.
