Budgam — Residents of Yusmarg, Nagbal, Pakherpora and adjoining areas in Budgam district are complaining that snow-covered roads have yet to be cleared, causing severe inconvenience to daily life.
According to callers, localities including Pakherpora, Yusmarg, Nagbal, Challyan, Kandidajan, Chrawani, Hayatpora, Dalwan, Watkuloo, Nilnag, Branwar and several other villages remain cut off due to accumulated snow on roads.
Residents said the continued blockage has disrupted the movement of students and patients, while also affecting the general public, particularly in emergencies. Many expressed concern over delays in accessing schools, healthcare facilities and essential services.
People from the affected areas have appealed to the District Administration Budgam, led by Deputy Commissioner Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, and local MLA Abdul Rahim Rather sahab to expedite snow-clearance operations and restore road connectivity at the earliest.
The residents urged the administration to prioritise interior and link roads to ensure smooth movement and reduce hardships during the ongoing winter conditions before the next snowfall arrives.
