Patwari, Chowkidar arrested on bribery charges in Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 15: Authorities on Thursday detained a Patwari and a Chowkidar in Kokernag after a field raid by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CACB) allegedly uncovered a bribery transaction, officials said.

“During the raid at Patwari Khana, Bidder, Kokernag, Patwari Muneeb Farooq presently posted as Patwari Halqa Soafshali-Panzgam, was caught red-handed while allegedly demanding and accepting ₹15,000 from the complainant,” they said adding “the concerned Chowkidar, identified as Farooq Ahmed, son of Abdul Gani, was also taken into custody.”
