DC Budgam Bilal Mohiuddin Clears 131 Road Acquisition Cases to Boost Road Projects

Srinagar: Budgam Deputy Commissioner Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat (IAS) on Thursday reviewed the status of pending Land Acquisition and Private Negotiation Committee (PNC) cases in the district, approving 131 landowner cases to accelerate key infrastructure projects.

Officials told Ziraat Times the approvals are expected to give significant momentum to road construction works under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) and the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department, which had been facing delays due to unresolved land issues.

During the review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of timely disbursement of compensation to affected landowners, maintaining transparency in the acquisition process, and ensuring faster execution of development works. He directed concerned departments to resolve remaining cases at the earliest to avoid bottlenecks in project implementation.

Dr. Bhat reiterated that infrastructure development remains a priority for the district administration and called for coordinated efforts to ensure that public interest projects are completed within stipulated timelines.
