Srinagar: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region has welcomed the Next-Gen GST reforms announced by the Union Government, noting their potential to strengthen competitiveness, ease compliance, and stimulate growth across key sectors.
In a statement to Ziraat Times, Mrs Anjali Singh, Chairperson, CII Northern Region and Executive Chairperson, ANAND Group, said:
“The next-generation GST reforms are a landmark step in simplifying compliance, boosting transparency, and enhancing ease of doing business across sectors. These reforms will not only strengthen investor confidence but also provide a strong fillip to demand and growth in the economy. For manufacturing in particular, the reduction of GST rates on automobiles and components will provide welcome relief to supply chains and smaller vendors, while also supporting competitiveness and long-term growth. Together, these measures pave the way for positioning India as a global hub for innovation, investment, and industrial excellence.”
Mr Puneet Kaura, Deputy Chairperson, CII Northern Region and MD & CEO, Samtel Avionics, added:
“The reforms come as a positive step for high-technology and defense-linked manufacturing. By easing compliance and rationalising tax structures, the government has given industry greater confidence to invest in advanced capabilities. Building on this momentum, continued focus on incentivising R&D and indigenisation will further accelerate India’s journey towards self-reliance and global leadership.”
CII Northern Region reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with governments and industry stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of Next-Gen GST reforms, while continuing its advocacy for sector-specific support to accelerate India’s growth trajectory.
