Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Bank has urged farmers across Jammu & Kashmir to enroll under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for the Kharif 2025 season. The last date for enrollment under the scheme has been set as 31st July 2025.
The PMFBY is a government-backed crop insurance scheme designed to offer financial protection to farmers in the event of crop failure due to natural calamities, pests, or diseases. For this season, the farmer’s share of the insurance premium has been fixed at just 2% of the total sum insured for Kharif crops — making it an affordable and vital safety net for the farming community.
According to J&K Bank, the scheme is open to all farmers of the UT, and provides comprehensive risk coverage from pre-sowing to post-harvest losses. The bank has been designated as one of the key facilitators for enrollment and support under this central scheme.
Interested farmers can visit their nearest J&K Bank branch to register or call the dedicated helpline number 1800 890 2122 for assistance and further details.
