Ladakh to import mutton from Delhi through cargo; price set at Rs 740 per kg

Leh: The Union Territory of Ladakh has decided to directly import mutton from Delhi. The move aims to ensure a steady and regulated supply of quality meat for local consumers while addressing the challenges posed by limited local production and rising prices.

A meeting convened at the office chamber of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh, brought together key stakeholders to discuss and finalize the pricing for the imported mutton, officials told Ziraat Times.

After detailed deliberations, the committee fixed the retail price at Rs 740 per kilogram.

The mutton will be transported to Leh through cargo services directly from Delhi. The newly fixed rate will remain effective until further notice.
