Haris Handoo, Shabnam Kamili, Shakil Romshoo among six J&K Govt  officials awarded for Meritorious Public Service

Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir Government has recognized six distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to public service, awarding them the Meritorious Public Service Award on the eve of Republic Day 2025. These officials, according to a government communication, have demonstrated exceptional dedication and commitment to governance, administration, education, and public welfare.

The awardees include:

  1. Shabanam Kamili, JKAS – A senior bureaucrat known for her contributions to social welfare, agriculture economy and public administration.

  2. Kishore Singh Chib, JKAS – Recognized for his administrative leadership and governance reforms.

  3. Haris Ahmad Handoo, JKAS – Honored for his professional commitment, efforts in public policy and administrative efficiency.

  4. Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah – Principal/Dean, GMC Srinagar, awarded for her contributions to medical education and healthcare services.

  5. Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo – Vice-Chancellor, Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, acknowledged for his academic leadership and contributions to research and higher education.

  6. Dr. Anjum Andrabi – Assistant Director, HADP, recognized for his work in agriculture and rural development.

Each awardee will receive a cash prize of ₹51,000 and a citation as a token of appreciation for their exceptional service to society.
