As J&K Govt releases Rs 52 cr SGST dues, PHDCCI Jammu welcomes move

Jammu: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), Jammu Chapter, has lauded the J&K Government for releasing the long-pending SGST reimbursement of Rs 52 crore. This significant move is set to ease the financial strain on numerous businesses across Jammu and Kashmir.

“We are immensely thankful to Honourable Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary of Finance Santosh D. Vaidya, and Director General of Accounts and Treasuries Mahesh Dass for their concerted efforts in releasing the SGST reimbursement. This timely disbursement will provide a much-needed boost to the business community, especially in these challenging times,” said Rahul Sahai, Chair of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu Chapter in a statement released to Ziraat Times.

Mr. Sahai also commended the support from Vikramjit Singh, Commissioner Secretary of Industries and Commerce Department, Mahesh Dass, Director General of Accounts and Treasuries, and PK Bhat, Commissioner GST J&K. He highlighted the pivotal role of Arun Manhas, Director of Industry Jammu, in conducting monthly investors’ meetings to address the financial needs of the business community.

The reimbursement, pending since the second quarter of last year, is expected to enhance the liquidity of businesses and contribute to the overall economic development of the region. “The release of Rs. 52 crores is a testament to the government’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment in Jammu and Kashmir,” added Mr. Sahai.

“The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu Chapter, looks forward to continued cooperation and support from the government to address other pressing issues faced by the business community. The chamber remains dedicated to working alongside the government to create a conducive environment for trade and industry in Jammu and Kashmir”, the statement added.
