PHDCCI Kashmir discusses industries-related issues with Additional Commr State Taxes

Srinagar: The PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industries Kashmir  held a  meeting with Shakeel Maqbool, Additional Commissioner State Taxes (Adm & Enforcement) Kashmir, to address pressing issues faced by industries, traders, and businesses in the region.

The delegation led by Co-Chair Javaid Anim and comprising EC members Haleem Bhat, Shabir Abdullah, Salem Bhat,  Inaam and Deputy Director of PHDCCI Iqbal Fayaz Jan engaged in constructive discussions with Mr. Maqbool on challenges encountered during tax compilation processes. Key topics included GST claims, the VAT amnesty scheme, as well as notices and demands issued by (CTOs).

Mr. Maqbool attentively listened to the concerns raised by the PHDCCI members and assured them of leniency towards legitimate and minor cases. Emphasizing the importance of compliance, he conveyed a message to the business and trading community through the PHDCCI, urging them to take advantage of the VAT Final Amnesty provided by the government, PHDCCI said in a media statement here.

Furthermore, Mr. Maqbool highlighted that there will be no further extensions for availing the VAT Final Amnesty and warned of stringent recovery actions by the revenue department against defaulters who fail to utilize this opportunity.
The PHDCCI Kashmir appreciates the proactive engagement of  Shakeel Maqbool and looks forward to continued collaboration to foster a conducive business environment in the region, the statement added.
