Bat manufacturers, industrial bodies seek CM’s intervention on sectoral issues

Srinagar, July 14: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday met several public and industry delegations at the Civil Secretariat and assured them that their genuine grievances and demands would be examined in consultation with the concerned departments for appropriate action.

Among those who met the Chief Minister was a delegation of the Bat Manufacturers Association Kashmir led by its president, Fayaz Ahmad Dar. The delegation sought government support for Kashmir’s cricket bat manufacturing industry and urged measures to promote its growth and address issues affecting the sector.

A delegation of the Srinagar International Airport Taxi Stand Drivers Union, led by president Riyaz Thakur, also called on the Chief Minister and raised concerns related to taxi operators serving the airport.

The Chief Minister also met a delegation of the Hot Mix Plant Owners Association, Kashmir, headed by Bashir Ahmad Khan, which highlighted challenges being faced by the association.

Another delegation representing the Industrial Estate Pampore apprised Omar Abdullah of issues concerning the industrial estate and sought government intervention.

After hearing the delegations, the Chief Minister assured them that all genuine issues would be examined sympathetically and appropriate steps would be taken in coordination with the concerned departments.

Separately, a delegation of ICICI Bank also met the Chief Minister and discussed ways to strengthen Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and expand financial inclusion across Jammu & Kashmir.
