Kashmir Tourism Fraternity announces ‘Climate Fast’ in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk

Srinagar: The Kashmir Tourism Trade Fraternity (KTTF) has announced a “climate fast” in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, a socio-economic and environmental activist from Ladakh.

In a statement to Ziraat Times, KTTF has called on its members and the public to join them for a one-hour climate fast on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at The Bund near Masjid Bilal.

“The fast is in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, a socio-economic and environmental activist from Ladakh, who has been on a climate fast for 14 days to protest climate change and protect the ecology and environment of the Himalayan region of Ladakh”, KTTF further said.

The KTTF has urged  people to show their support for Wangchuk and the people of Ladakh by participating in the climate fast.
