JKPDD suspends 7 AEEs, 5 Junior engineers “for high power losses in their zones”

Date:

Srinagar: Kashmir Power Development Department has suspended seven gazetted engineers,  Assistant Executive Engineer and five Junior Engineers of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation (KPDCL) and Jammu Power Distribution  Corporation (JPDCL) for, what sources say, being unable to curb the high power losses on their assigned feeders in their areas of jurisdiction.

According to two separate orders issued by the Power Development Department of Jammu and Kashmir, the 12 employees have been put under suspension with immediate effect pending an inquiry into the matter.

While the order does not specify the reason for the suspension, Power Engineers’ Association office bearers told Ziraat Times that it is for failing to reduce power losses in their designated zones and areas. Ziraat Times could not immediately confirm this from the Power Development Department.
