J&K govt extends deadline for filing property returns by employees

Ziraat Times News Network

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has extended the deadline for filing property returns for the year 2023. Employees working under the government were earlier required to file their returns by January 31, 2024, but the deadline has now been extended to February 15, 2024.

According to the official notification received by Ziraat Times, the extension was granted after it was observed that many employees had failed to submit their returns within the stipulated timeline. The government has warned that failure to submit property returns is a punishable offense under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets Act and Rules.

Employees can file their returns online on the Property Return System (PRS) Portal. Unregistered employees should get themselves registered on the portal and immediately renew their licenses. They should also provide their current mobile numbers and email ids on CPS portal and further, in case of any other issues/technical support, they may forward their concerns on [email protected] for speedy redressal.

Controlling Officers/Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) have also been instructed to ensure compliance with regard to filing of property returns by all the defaulting employees of their establishment. Further, Administrative Departments shall also assess the progress in this regard.
