Srinagar, Nov 28: Travel Agents Association of Kashmir has hailed the posting of Wasim Raja as Chief Executive Officer, Gulmarg Development Authority, and called it a welcome step.
Having served the tourism sector in various capacities earlier, Rauf Tramboo, President TAAK, said that the dynamic officer is capable of handling the top job at Gulmarg in an efficient and effective manner, a press statement issued to Ziraat Times said.
Tourism sector is in dire need of such officers who can efficiently promote sustainable tourism, especially in tourist destinations like Gulmarg, which is eco sensitive.
While assuring him of full-fledged support and cooperation, we expect that the new CEO will take stakeholders on board to promote Gulmarg as the most sought-after tourist destination.
Over the years , there have been some complaints of mishandling of tourists at Gulmarg and we hope and expect that Wasim Raja will get the issues resolved and make all the stakeholders practice transparency, accountability and ethical trade practices.
While remembering his contribution in the most difficult times in tourism industry , TAAK and other stakeholders had been eagerly waiting for his return back to tourism.
