Over Rs 25 cr loss – Domestic Tour Operators Association grieved over Dal lake fire incident

Srinagar, Nov 13: The Domestic Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (DTOAK) has expressed grief over the loss of several houseboats in a major fire that occurred in Dal Lake this morning.

The fire, which is estimated to have caused damage worth over Rs 25 crore, gutted three houseboats belonging to one family. The houseboats were the family’s only source of income.

DTOAK President Mushtaq Reshi has appealed to the government to help the fire victims and provide them with compensation and subsidized timber. He has also called for a contingency plan to be put in place to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
