28 J&K Police officers inducted into IPS. Here is the list.

New Delhi, Sept 29: The President of India, in accordance with the Indian Police Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 and the Indian Police Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, has appointed 28 senior officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Police Service to the Indian Police Service.

According to an official notification issued by the Under Secretary to the Government of India, a copy of which has been received by Ziraat Times, these officers will serve on probation and are allocated to the Jammu and Kashmir cadre under the AGMUT Cadre, following sub-rule (1) of the Indian Police Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954. It is important to note that this appointment is subject to the outcome of the T.A. No. 62/5668/2020 case titled “Sheikh Abdul Rehman & Ors. Vs. Department of Home, UT of Jammu & Kashmir,” which is currently under adjudication before the Hon’ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Jammu Bench. This case arises from the transfer of the SWP No. 3869/2019 filed by Shri Sheikh Abdul Rehman & Ors. from the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu & Kashmir at Srinagar.

These officers will be on probation for one year in accordance with the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954. Additionally, they will receive induction training as outlined in sub-rule 5(4) of the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954, as amended on 10.05.2011.

This appointment takes effect immediately from the date of this notification.
