HPCL celebrates 49th Annual Day at Jammu

JAMMU, July 15:  Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) marked its momentous 49th Annual Day on July 15th, 2023, with a series of events held at its depot located near the Railway Station in Jammu. The celebration encompassed various activities organized in collaboration with NGO SUPPORT, aiming to foster employee engagement and community involvement.

A spokesperson told Ziraat Times that the highlight of this year’s celebration was a volunteer Blood Donation Camp, organized by HPCL Depot Jammu and NGO SUPPORT. The camp welcomed a team of doctors from esteemed organizations such as the Department of Blood Transfusion & Immunohematology, Red Cross Society, ISBTI, and Young Blood Association. Together, they facilitated the donation process, emphasizing the importance of voluntary blood donations in meeting the critical needs of patients.

During the event, HPCL’s Depot Manager, Farooq Hussain Shah, and Plant Safety Officer, Abhishek, initiated a program within the premises.

Dr. Navneet Kour, the founder Chairperson of NGO SUPPORT, along with representatives from GMC, Red Cross Society, ISBTI, and Young Blood Association, joined the program. They collectively administered the Foundation Day pledge to the employees, emphasizing their continued commitment to the growth and success of HPCL.

 

Farooq Hussain Shah, in his address, applauded the dedication and commitment displayed by the employees and stakeholders, recognizing their pivotal role in HPCL’s remarkable achievements and future growth.

As part of the celebration, a plantation drive was organized within the depot premises. Mr Shah, Abhishek, Dr. Navneet Kour, Dr. Deepsikha, and other HPCL employees actively participated in planting trees, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the spokesperson said.

In an effort to engage the local community, an on-the-spot painting competition was organized for the children of Balgrain, an orphanage home located in Channi Rama. Farooq Hussain Shah and Abhishek, accompanied by HPCL employees, distributed sweets and prizes to the children, fostering a sense of joy and inclusivity.

NGO SUPPORT, ISBTI, Young Blood Association, and the Indian Red Cross Society jointly presented awards and certificates to the volunteer donors and winners of the competition. Farooq Hussain Shah and Abhishek were honored with mementos as tokens of appreciation by NGO SUPPORT. Furthermore, certificates were presented by Anil K Padha, the founder of Young Blood Association, along with Dr. Navneet Kour.

Dr. Navneet Kaur, founder Chairperson of NGO SUPPORT, emphasized the critical role of blood donations in saving lives, particularly for patients requiring emergency medical care. Dr. Deepsikha highlighted the significance of voluntary blood donations and raised awareness about its indispensable need in hospitals.

Expressing gratitude, Mr Shah extended his thanks to the employees, workers, and staff of the plant for their unwavering commitment and exceptional service during these challenging times. The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and distribution of sweets to all those present at the event.

Mr Abhishek, the Plant Safety Manager, successfully organized the event and conveyed his congratulations to everyone involved.
