Srinagar, June 17: Greater Srinagar leadership on Saturday held a crucial meeting to address key issues related to public welfare and the upcoming Municipality elections in Kashmir valley.

During a telephonic conversation with the media, a spokesperson representing the Greater Srinagar leadership expressed concerns over the difficulties faced by the residents of Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam in resolving their daily problems.

According to the spokesperson, “The people are extremely dissatisfied with the performance of their elected representatives in the previous ULB elections. While not all councillors can be blamed but a significant number of them have shown a lack of responsiveness to the public’s grievances during their five year long stint.”

The Greater Srinagar group conducted the meeting with its members and unanimously decided to participate in the upcoming Municipal elections in all the three districts including Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam.

They said their objective is to empower the common man by electing individuals from humble backgrounds, known for their social work who are free from any charges of corruption or questionable character.

“There has been enough experimentation and manipulation of the people’s sentiments and aspirations. This time, it will be the common man who will step forward to claim their rightful place in power,” the spokesperson emphasized.

Furthermore, the spokesperson assured the public that Greater Srinagar leadership is open to hearing public grievances and is committed to stand with the people to resolve their issues to the best of their capabilities.

“Our mission is to restore public dignity in Greater Srinagar. We refuse to witness our elderly citizens waiting for hours & days on the doors of elected representatives to get streetlights installed or the repair of broken water pipes. Our people deserve dignity, not humiliation. The VIP culture must come to an end and public representatives should make themselves available 24/7 to address the grievances of their constituents. This is the very soul of our manifesto,” the spokesperson concluded.

The meeting saw the presence of Chairman, Aga Syed Mohammad Hussaini and all the members of Greater Srinagar Leadership including Mohammad Faheem Reshi, Syed Aqeel Rizvi, Shoaib Ahmed, Yasir Hussain, Nasir Hussain Dar, Masrat ji, Dr. Saima Jan, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Mushtaq Ahmad, Imran Sheikh, Adv Khan Raja, Rehana ji, Saba ji, Asifa ji, Sarwar Hussain, Shair Ali, Akhter Hussain, Bashir Ahmad, Saqib Malla, Imran Dar, Mosin Ahmad, Tasaduq Ahmad, Dr. Farooq Qadri, Tanveer Sofi, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Aqib Najar, Villayat Ali, Zulfikar Ahmed, Bashir Ahmad, Saima Akhtar, Rukhsana ji, Shahzada ji, Mohd Farooq, Zahoor Ahmad, Showkat Ahmad, Dilawar Ahmad, Qasim Baba, Nazir Ahmad.
